firstly..i'd like to say that parents are great people..but what make some parents not as ideal as most??
well..let's explore the world of parent behavior..Parents can be classified under 2 major categories..
Firstly..Not as good category.. the reason why i use not as good is because parents can never be bad.. and i stress.. NEVER!!
however, sometimes they do not understand their children well enough.. for example.. if your child is happy doing something, shouldn't you feel happy as well?? even if you don't quite understand, can't you just take the time to go and liao jie why he/she is happy by doing this activity??
It takes so much effort from the children to please their parents.. apart from the huge amount of school work and activities, children should also get some of their own free time.. parents-free.. unless the parents are superly-duperly understanding.. it is quite impossible to enjoy your time with parents breathing down your neck.. it is just like having a knife pressed against your throat, threating to kill you if you even start breathing.. Furthermore, parents are able to break their promises.. but who says it is good??
parents are our models, they should always be a good model for us to follow.. but i feel that some parents are exactly opposite.. they say one thing.. but do the other.. what's the use of being that "perfect model" if everything you say.. you don't do.. the famous quote "Practice what you preach."
Keeping your promise isn't that hard.. however, in today's society.. no one knows how to anymore because they are all taught to live for themselves only.. Maybe these parents should go back to school and re-learn their morals..However, i'm sure that parents are not always that bad.. parents also can be classified, secondly, into the GOOD parents.. i mean.. these are the parents that are kind, nice and understanding.. they take care of your every need but yet leave you to do your own thing.. it is like a bird.. the mother takes care of the chick but let it learn to fly on its' own.. it soars freely.. but always goes back to the mother..because the chick knows that the mother means well..
Moreover, parents who are understanding and kind tend to leave you alone..to your own personal time and space.. they trust you.. and they have faith that you're not going astray.. and you're not.. i mean..parents who care for their child and yet let them learn on their own tend to have children being more faithful to them.. because they know that the parents mean well.. it is a cycle of faith and trust.. i emphasize..
Also, i think that good parents usually nurtures the child.. they do not force them to do what they do not want.. instead, they give you the pros and cons of doing it and not doing it.. after listening, i am sure most of us can make our own decision.. we, as humans, do things for the best for ourselves..
Also, a parent with good intentions would want you to be happy.. with whatever you choose.. although sometimes it hard to know right from wrong.. you know that whatever good parents say.. you'll listen..because it is the right thing to do..I know that many of us struggle with these kind of situations in everyday life.. however, i must emphasize that without your parents, no one is able to be loved, cared for and also understood.. your parents are the basis of your childhood and your life.. they are the first one to see you and the ones who would walk you through life.. they are never bad.. just not so understanding at times.. this is important that we must understand..
however, i strongly urge people who have these situations to talk with their parents, work it out with them.. try to be understanding to your parents.. then they will do the same to you.. at this time and age of us teenagers, we are rebellious at times.. but please understand that your parents mean well... but sometimes, your parents just need to have a little talk with you to straighten things out.. in the world today.. parents sometimes are obnoxious and irritating and etc.. but all parents are basically the same.. it's just how they express themselves to their kids that make them seem "weird" and most of the time, "irritating"... In short, parents, be nice to your kids.. they appreciate that a lot..
